the political paradox

I have come to the conclusion that there is a huge, and probably unsolvable paradox within the world of elections.
You see politions only get the offices they seek if they win by popular vote. So they have to do whatever is necessary to win over us, the voters. They need to make us believe that they have our best interests at heart.
It is here that the paradox rears its ugly head. Thats because its here that the lies come out. Politicians lie, everyone knows this. It is because of this many people feel so angry and distrustful towards those who run our city, state, and counrty governments. But if we, the people wernt so set in our beliefs, would these politcians have to lie to us?
Lets say an individual running for govenor promotes lowering taxes and giving more money to our schools and public services. They get elected because these are the kind of things that people want to hear. Then once they get in office they raise taxes and cut public services spending. The people who voted this individual in are embarrassed and up in arms against them.
If this politician had run on the platform of what they were actually going to do, they would have never been voted in. So it becomes this tell the truth and loose, or lie and win. Hence the paradox.
Everyone has different beliefs and political views. There is no way a politician can honestly do all the things they promise. They have to promise these things to appeal to the largest audience.
Is there a way to change this cycle of lies and disappointment? I cant say. The way I see it, this cycle is politics, and thus, is timeless.

Yes this is very true, I just tend to give them the benifit of a doubt and hope and pray they are saying what they mean and not feeding me lies to get my vote. I honestly believe that Hillary is not lying about anything i think she is very true to her beliefs. Obama on the other hand, I see something very shady to him. The things that he says, his attitude, just something isnt clicking for me to vote for him and trust him. I dont think politics will ever be honest and up-front because its human nature to want to win and shine... . . .

I find it interesting you would say that. Most people I talk to feel the opposite of you. I think most agree Obama is newer, and really belives in what he says, where as Hilary is more the tradition politcian who says whatever she needs to.
