My sister and I were partners in crime. We got in trouble together and we would lie together. Even though it wasn't taking responsibility when we were lying, when our parents discovered we lied we would take responsibility together. She never left me to fend for myself and I returned the favor. We lied mostly to our parents because they were the ones that it mattered most to. At the age of four, my sister was five, we would sneak extra cookies after dinner. So childish and innocent, besides the fact it was sneaking behind our parents backs and we lied to their faces when they noticed less cookies than before, but was it really that harmless? People should ask themselves that question more often when they lie, or do something that is truly harmful to others, to themselves, their community, or their country. I saw someone throw a cup of coffe out of their car window today, and even though it was Starbucks and they use somewhat environmentally safe materials, it is litering! Maybe I've dropped a few gum wrappers every now and then, I would try and throw them into the nearest garbage can and when I missed I wouldn't pick it up, well I'm trying to say I play a part in the destroying of the environment, we all do. If you've drivin your car when it was not necessary, chopped down a tree, thrown garbage in a body of water, or thrown a coffee cup out of your car window, you've played a part in the eroding of the planet. We need to take responsibility for what we've done as a society and try to fix it. Work together, thats the key! It's funny how I went from sneaking cookies to talking about pollution, sometimes I just write and don't know where it'll take me. With blogging, who knows what'll happen next.
